Audi A8 4H 2011 - soft close (power latch) retrofit
Hello everyone,
I want to retrofit a soft close (power latch) system on an A8 4H and I need help with coding the door control module . I started with the front passenger side door , all parts are in place , all wiring done ... I just need to recode the door control module . The part number is 4H0959792F , adress 52 , current coding 011D12205E00628202080002 .
If anybody has an Audi A8 4H or VW Touareg 7P with soft close please give me your coding for the passenger side door control unit.
Thank you.

I'm hoping Ross Tech will have the 4H page up soon....
Edit:
According to the 4E coding it's +4096 but that doesn't make sense based on what mine says.

Thanks for your answer. I will try your coding first thing in the morning. There are a few bits that are different on your coding , I presume you have more options related to this door module than this A8 has. I will try them one by one until I find out which is the bit (bits) I'm looking for.
Regarding the old (4E) A8 , the coding for the door modules was done on 2 bytes (decimal number up to 65536), for the 4H it's done on 11 bytes (a lot more options I guess). I don't know how soon the Ross Tech page will have details on the 4H , not even the latest VAS software (May 2012) can code this module without online connection to Audi SVM.
I will let you know how it goes, thanks again.

Hi again ,
After a couple of hours of trying different coding variants starting from the coding you gave me I have to report it's not working. I thought I made a mistake in the wiring but then I checked Measuring blocks group 008 - Power latch position , optional extra .
Measured value block 008:
Readout 01:
Power latch position (optional extra)
(n. fitted/unpressed/close/back)
Readout 02:
Power latch motor current consumption
(current consumption readout in [A])
Readout 03:
Status display
xxxxxxxx (0=not active/1=active)
87654321
xxxxxxx1: Door open
xxxxxx1x: Catch contact closed
xxxxx1xx: Return-stop-contact closed
xxxx1xxx: Child lock
xxx1xxxx: Power latch has detected blocking current
xx1xxxxx: El. child lock engaged
x1xxxxxx: Not used
1xxxxxxx: Not used
Readout 04:
Power latch fault display
xxxxxxxx (0=not active/1=active)
87654321
xxxxxxx1: Power latch fault catch
xxxxxx1x: Power latch fault door contact
xxxxx1xx: Power latch fault motor
xxxx1xxx: Not used
xxx1xxxx: Not used
xx1xxxxx: Power latch fault return stop sticking (close)
x1xxxxxx: Power latch fault return stop sticking (open)
1xxxxxxx: Not used
Values 1,2 and 4 are Not installed for me, with every variant of coding (I even tryed your whole code). Could you confirm that you have something other than Not installed in these blocks ?

I'd be happy to look, but it's going to be a week or two before time permits.
You might want to ask on the VCDS Yahoo group for a faster response.
Thanks-Jake

Ok , thanks. I will try on the Yahoo Group. If you have a saved Autoscan of your car please give me your coding for modules 05, 09, 42 (it's probably identical to 52), 46 and 62 (or 72). I'm starting to think that another module needs to be recoded. Mine are :

Audi A8 4H Soft Close (power latch)
Hello,
Did you ever get this to work - I have it on my 2011 A8 but am trading up to a new one (ex demo) and although it has every feature under the sun it is missing this wonderful feature which I love. I could be really cheeky and "borrow" the parts off the old one before I sell it.

I am also interested how you did it?
Can you give some hints?
Thanks
