Audi A8L 4.0 2015 Reverse while driving
Hi everyone,
I am a new Audi A8L 4.0. The other day I got car switched in to reverse gear by mistake while I've been driving. Have not heard any weird noises or any changes in drivability but I would like to know if there is anything I should be worry about or how that will affect the car on the long run?
Thank you!

While I'm no expert in this and have not personally attempted it, pretty much most modern vehicles (with auto transmissions) are drive by wire - so by moving the "shifter", you're not physically shifting anything in the gearbox, rather instructing the electronics system (on-board computer) to do it on your behalf. I'm positive there is a line of code in the system's programming, somewhere, to prevent it from actually attempting a physical reverse shift at a forward speed.
