Audi Tire Rotation

Audi Tire Rotation
I have a 2016 Audi A6 Quattro and have been told not to rotate the tires every 5,000 miles. Is this statement correct and if not how often should I rotate the tires?

I agree with that statement. Its not worth rotating tires especially on Quattro where all tires wear evenly. When I get my tires road force balance in beginning I put them in different corners depending on how well they balance and I keep them there for the entire lifecycle. I have a A6, A7, and A8 in the house and with proper alignments all the cars wear the tires evenly without issues. When I rotate it creates more problem, vibration, pulling and funny handling because the tires have to get used to the new position etc. BMW doesnt advise doing this too. I get average of 35-40k out of my tire sets.

Odd... I've always had fronts wear faster than rears on my Quattro Audi's. Since they do turning and braking more than rears. Usually only be a small amount. Around 1/32" difference per 5k rotation. More so on the outside edge too, naturally. I rotate every winter/summer changeover. But that's what works for me YMMV.

In page 216 of the Owners Manual for your 2016 Audi A6, it recommends the following concerning tire rotation:
Rotating the wheels regularly is recommended to ensure the tires wear evenly. To rotate wheels, install the wheels from the rear axle on the front axle and vice versa. This will allow the tires to have approximately the same length of service life.
For unidirectional tires, make sure the tires are installed according to the running direction indicated on the tire sidewall.

I don't like to rotate tires, mostly because the wear pattern can give you advance notice to issues with the suspension. On most of my cars, the tires have worn pretty evenly, so rotations wouldn't have helped.
