Bleeding coolant system
Hi, I would like to say hi as I am the owner of a new to me A8l 3.0tdi and have just registered with this forum 😊 I love my car but yesterday the water pump failed, which with 92k on I can understand if it's the original. I've had a new pump and belt fitted but the heater only gets hot when I'm driving, not when I'm stationary. As such I do think I have an air lock, could anyone please tell me if/where any bleed points are on this car please? It's a late 2011 model so assume 2012 model year and is RHD in the U.K. Many thanks Chris

Chris, I can't help you with bleed points but I can suggest a tool. I started using one of these about a year ago and will never go back to any other method. I've used this tool to fill 3 Audi's and a chevy truck. All three would normally require bleeding the systems of air afterword. No need to bleed using the Vacuum fill tool.

If it is similar to S6 there is a bleed point under the front cowl, center front of windshield. You have to loosen the hose clamp and bleed from there.
