As you can imagine, electrics in the car are a nightmare. Most of the things I've had can be fixed with software updates. It's just a question of "if" and/or "when" I guess.

Audi have made a huge effort with this car, to be honest, I doubt other manufacturers at this price, would do a much better job.

I think both our new cars will be better.
Cancelled my order this morning. Have to re-evaluate what I want in my next car, and frankly not sure the A8 fits the bill. Have never had this experience concerning an Audi---perhaps I'm changing and need to move in another direction---Well, all options are open and under consideration now.

Had the same issue with the MB W220(2000 S500) and my W211 (2003 E500). Both had so many glitches I swore to never do it again. Funny thing is that I now have a 2007 W221 and it's a dream. Either way I can't stomach it even though I want a new D4 real bad. Will wait for a 2012 and in between check out the A7. I think you did the right thing if you are not pushed to get a new car in the next 6 months.

Not really pushed to move right now, other than securing a slot in my dealer's A8 allocation alotment for the year---dealer decided to front-load allocations for Winter/Spring production vehicles. Would have happily stayed with an A8, but the Panamera keeps drawing my attention...sort of like an exotic woman smiling at you from a table at the other side of the restaurant ;^) The A8 would be a terrific car to have, but like my dealer says, is nothing over the top; it just does everything well in a more understated way---albeit (IMO), in a bit more boring package compared with the Porsche.

I guess they all look great until you start to drive them. That's when you realize they all have their bugs, quirks and crazy issues......

Let's be careful, wives seem to have an unnatural ability of finding out about us talking behind their backs. .... and then we won't be allowed any cars or toys. hehe
