Changing start stop button?
so, the other day a very considerate Individual managed to get in to my a8 and was nice enough to attempt to pry off the start button. The result of this was the button portion of the assembly being broken off. I have it Jerry rigged in place for the time being, but I intend on replacing it as soon as possible.
with that said, is there a proper way to remove this button? I can’t find a DIY that applies to the a8.

Depends on your MY
after July 2010 you need to remove the center cover using a suction cup.
Then you'll be able to pry the button out using some plastic wedge.
For model prior July 2010, this is way more complexe.
You basically need to remove the entire middle console to be able to press it out of it...
This is because of 2 retaining clips that make the extraction of the button almost/totally impossible.
I believe reading your desc that it is your case...
