Default Coolant Leak Into ECU Recall for U.S. MY 2011-2013 A8

I guess this addresses the infamous transmission coolant valve failure. See below...

This is an old VW issue. Crazy that it's still happening all these later.

Thanks for posting this. I will be checking with my dealer. Per the image you posted, recall is expected to begin on October 19.

It is crazy. Must be a heck of an expensive recall. I wouldn't count on the VIN lookup, check directly with the dealer. It's possible the 4.0t uses a different part and is not affected by the recall. It's about time they recalled this. Are they doing anything for those who already paid out the rear for it?

I had my regular service done this week and the dealer did replace the coolant valve on my car and informed me that they did receive the bulletins from Audi just a few days ago. So, I assume those with the affected cars will be getting the notices in the mail from Audi soon.

As mentioned, thanks for posting. I'll be hopefully going a 700+ mile trip soon and would be furious if this started on highway. Thank goodness for this Forum and the good members on it for being Alert!
I won't be waiting for a letter and depending on length of service time, I'd expect at least a A7 for a loaner. Even if I have to tell them I'm interested in purchase.
I did almost purchase a A7 prior due to the sexy exterior lines, however I Always kept coming back to the A8 ultimately. Even after years of looking. Thanks again for the post
