Finally there are aftermarket rotors availible for us EU people through a online reseller in Germany. I have requested details but not recieved any yet and in the mean time I wanted to try you guys for any knowlegde on the original manufacturer?
The ones I have found are manufactured by Zimmerman and cost around $500 for a front pair.

Not sure about the original manufacturer but I got APEC fitted to mine, the cost of discs and pads was £250 plus fitting for front and rear, so far they seem fine.

Zimerman is not the true manufacturer AFAIK. I have bought the 365's before that fit RS5 or R8 and are identical to dealer ones but just no Audi # on the rotor. All the other marking are identical. They come from Europe with some company name on box, but aren't Zimmerman. I think I have seen a listing or two from Zimmerman though; I suspected it was just a private label deal of some kind.

FWIW, price here from discount dealer for Audi OE on a 4.2 at 380mm is $261.45 each. Part 14: FRONT BRAKES for 2011 Audi A8 Quattro Thus here the $250 (each) price wouldn't be compelling to me, as against known dealer OE that I can get in a few days from web order.

"Stuff" is usually 25-30% more expensive in Europe. I have also found a Danish company providing discs...really wierd I have to say but the company is https://triscan.com/en

See if they are really the Audi quasi two piece design, or just a single conventional cast iron blank. Anyone could make the latter if they think there is a market for it. But the former (audi OE design) has what I think is a patent that prevents others from making them unless they get a license--or private label them if Audi or the manufacturer will supply. If someone has decided to make a cast iron standard version, realize it will be heavier in general.
