Default Oil screen PCV advice 2015 S8

Hello
I recently purchased a 2015 S8 with 35k miles. Was certified pre-owned and I also got the Audi platinum warranty 5 years 60k miles from 7/9/20. I have the service records showing all the scheduled maintenance even the 45k scheduled was already done. I don't see anywhere in the service records that the notorious PCV/turbo oil screens work was done. My question is, should I contact the dealer and see if they will do the replacement now, or just drive it until something happens since I have the warranty. I would like to take care of the problem before it's a problem but I'm not sure the dealer will replace them without a failure first. Thanks

Welcome to the forum!

A warranty covers items WHEN they break, not IF they may break. The turbo failure rate is far less than 10% of vehicles sold. The "problem" is there are no warning signs or alerts of any kind that let you know it is going to happen. Also, there is no "notorious" PCV issue.

I am curious about your CPO - it appears to cover your car for 25k more miles which is only 5k miles per year. Is this your daily Driver or just a fun car? I ask because I tacked 34k on my car in a little over 26 months, and it is one of several cars I drive.....

Right, I was just wondering if the dealer would even consider preventative maintenance, I would assume they wouldn't either until something happened.

The warranty is 5 years and 60k miles from purchase date and purchase miles. So expires July 2025 or 95k miles.

I replied once but I don't see it showing here for some reason.

Right. I was curious if the dealership would even consider preventative work for a known issue. But I get why they wouldn't.

The warranty is 5 year 60k from the date and mileage at purchase. So July of 2025 or 95k miles whichever is first.

There should be an extended warranty on just the PCV to 10 years or 120k miles from new, so still same 2025 date, but more mileage.

As mentioned they will not do preventative warranty work, only if/when it fails.

In that thread the extension is up to 2016. Can we and to which degree of safety can we assume that the "parts were upgraded, superseded" from that point going forward? Anyone confirm that the 2017+ 4.0Ts have newer parts?

The bulletin is from 2019, so you'd think so, but with Audi it is almost never "safe to assume" anything...they could just issue a new bulletin later including more dates and a revised revised part. AFAIK the 2017+ do have a revised part, but no guarantee it is not also faulty. I can't recall exactly, but I thought they went through 7 different revisions through the years.
Example I use is I had the cold start timing chain tension rattle on my SQ5. They fixed it according to the TSB at the time and 1 year later the parts have already been superseded by a later revision, so unfortunately it is an ever changing landscape.
