I’m going to attempt to do mine tomorrow by removing the AC compressor without discharging it. Did see a post where someone got behind it without removing the AC compressors. Probably will attempt that first. If I'm not able to, will try to remove the bolt by unhooking the AC and pushing it to the side. My 2017 A8L 4.0 T has code for P164E001 oil pressure regulation valve electrical malfunction and it says not to exceed 4000 RPMS.
Along with an engine light for p052C001 cold start intake (a) camshaft position timing query-advanced (bank 2),
Replaced the sensor 2 days ago. hopefully this will clear everything. Just paid the dealer to do the water pump then this happened right after, they also did the oil strainer recall and confirmed my turbos are good. Hope this post helps someone out.
Planning on getting a catch can to help with carbon buildup, wonder if this has any correlation. If anyone else is familiar let me know. I will also update what happens after I fixed it.
UPDATE: FML… got under the car and cant seem to get to the T30 bolt without removing something. Cant find any videos on it. Will update.

Any luck? I'm coming up on my next oil change in 500ish miles, it's not cold outside so I can bike to work if I run into a SNAFU. Dependant on how my next cold start goes, where I'm going to try and stuff a camera in the engine bay to watch the engine motion during P to R gear change, I may need to do an engine mount or two at the same time.
Cold gear changes are rough, which started happening right around the time I figured out that the oil pressure control valve had failed and not set a visible light. I'm hoping it's related. The amount of engine braking while cold and in lower gears is also incredibly more significant than what it was a year ago, it's like the engine is requiring a significant amount more torque to stay spinning. I put a Sonnax 8HP ZIP kit in the mechatronic about a month ago to rule out an issue with the transmission and it didn't change much, so either the transmission has more serious issues or the cause lies elsewhere.
