My 2016 S8 Plus says manufactured by quattro GmBH on the door jamb sticker. My late 2013 said Audi AG. To my knowledge they were both made on the same A8 assembly line in Neckarsulm.......Hmmmm

My D3 W12 said the same. Do you have an "Exclusive" interior by chance? I think that may do it classification wise

Yes, the S8 Plus is an RS8 in all but name. I guess Audi keep the quattro GmbH involvement quiet for a variety of marketing driven reasons relating to the D4 size and target market.

Whilst quattro GmbH does have a dedicated production line at Neckarsulm, I believe this is only used for the R8. The other quattro GmbH models go down the main platform lines for respective models.

Audi Exclusive and Audi Sport (previously used specifically for their motor racing programs) are managed by quattro GmbH, and they are replacing the external use of quattro GmbH with Audi Sport branding instead.

Thanks Glisse, I didn't know about the marketing transition away from quattro GmbH. Makes sense as here in the US, GmbH is an unknown acronym.
