Sold my '13 A8 4.0TL CPO, got a new ride:

looked at CTS' BMW M-Bs 2 years ago- did not bother to 'negotiate' with the dealers for cars that lacked long term classic exteriors and interiors/ look at an older Audi A8 from 1999, 2004 and 2011 gens for design that lasts; previous D3 A8 and now the D4 A8 get a comments almost every week that's why I hand wash it!
So its your money, my money has gone to Audi for 43 years; some issues have come up, its not perfect (no car is) but the balance sheet for me is at 98%; pricey if its not managed, its a minus but the reward is the best car in the world IMO

I don't fall in love with the brand, just with a car that suits my needs best at the moment. In 2-3 years it will be something else. Audi did do it for me more than others I must admit, and I'm sure there will be a time when I will be back in an S/R/RS. Until then I'm driving something that Audi never brought to market. You should give it a try, you just may like it.

I understand what you're getting at. I've always disliked Tesla. Then I drove one this week. It was quite good. Ludicrous mode is an absolute blast! The tech is amazing! The interior wasn't all that bad either. In a few years I think I'll have to own one. Unless of course the other manufacturers get with the program and start building similar cars. I really believe it's an exciting time for cars. Manufacturers are pushing each other in order to get sales and we the customers get the benefits. Heck I had a ford Taurus rental car all week and it wasn't too bad. I was very surprised.
Enjoy the new ride!

I had the same feeling going from my former car (Jaguar XFR) to the S8... first week or so I missed the old ride, it was familiar (and cheaper lol). Now I'm super happy I made the switch, the S8 is just amazing on all fronts.
Enjoy the V! It's a fantastic car.
