Default Sporadic overheating 2011 A8 4.2

Just got this D4 4.2L.no problems except It overheats sporadically. It will go two or three bars past the middle of the temperature gauge and then without shutting off the car it will go back down. I ran the Vag com and just got one code for Relay for Aux coolant pump. Ran into this article http://forums.ross-tech.com/showthread.php?6111-2011-Audi-A8l-problems
so I changed the coolant pump and it was fine for 3 days with no code. Now still no code but it started doing it again. Help!!!!!

Thermostat? Does it randomly crank too long before starting?? If so then perhaps Temp sensor according to other posts here.
