Default accelerating problem

maybe someone else had this problem on a 92 audi 100cs 2wd:
when the car is getting ready to shift into a higher gear when accelerating the gas goes away and the car shifts really ruff. its like somebody is turning the gas supply off when you accelrate and then turns it back on when the car is in the next higher gear. i also have some ruff shifting when i accelerate to pass someone on the highway from 4th to 3rd. i check the fluid in the torque converter and noticed that there is too much in it. could this be the problem? if so how do i get it out of there? i think audi has like a little pump to change the fluid on the torque converters since theres no dipstick for the transmission itself. any ideas?

Default Re: accelerating problem

There is a transmission dipstick. It located on the driver side back of the engine. It has a red/orange cap located right between the power steering resevior and the brake master cyclinder.

Default On 100's, there is a tube for the dipstick, but often no dipstick, but they can be bought.....

...search this forum for vendors that sell them (it's called the "02" dipstick). Actually using the stick for checking the tranny fluid level is another matter - see Bentley for procedure. HTH.
