i took the ignition switch out 4 times,i changed all the relays ,fuses, tryed to hotwire the starter but it didn't work....i had to replace it....the old one was grinded inside ,pieces of metal, magnet, springs from the brushes, what a mess....no wonder the car wasn't even trying to crank.
so today having a day off i took the alternator off, then pulled the starter out, bought a "new" one(oh well,BOSCH,remanufactured but with 1 year warranty for 160$)and put it in.....it still didn't start but at least it clicked....click click click click....so i figured the starter isn't getting enough power, checked all the connections, tighten up a thick red wire(about 1' long )and ...Vrruuuummm !!!!!!!
it's alive again!!!!!
sweet!!!! the job took about 3 hours taking it off....never did it before on any car and going to pep boys to buy an extension bar and a flex joint.....putting it back was more like half an hour and another half playing with the connections.....
the nasty part was having to put up with the parking guys who weren't happy seing me working there, even if i had payed, each one trying to be smarter and powerfull than the other....kiss my A$$ suckers!!!
All and all i saved some money and learned something new.
i'm glad it's done and can't wait to see what's next....
meanwhile i'll have to take my skin off 'cause my hands are black and it's not coming off...
all the best fellas!!!!!
