Default Per my local Audi dealer, the warning light is activated when the pad is at ~15% thickness. How....

long you can go depends on how hard you brake. If you reached this limit at 50K miles, then the maximum remaining miles w/ a 5% minimum limit would be 50 (0.95/.85)= ~56K miles (+6K miles). But you're pushing your braking safety system, so why wait?

Default Plus it is a single piston design, so the pad does not always make even contact with the rotor,

when I had the problem, everyone told me ASAP, when I got it done, it was obvious that I could have waited a little.

Default I replaced the front pads about 6K miles ago...

But I've never done the rear ones since I've owned the car(about 20K). Is the round warning light that I'm getting on my dash only on fronts or does it include the rear ones as well? I remember hearing that only the fronts have the sensors on them but I'm not 100% sure. I've have to go to the garage for some strut work in about a week or two and will have them looked at then. I was just hoping that I would be able to wait until that time to have them replaced and just drive on them for now. Thanks for the advice.

Default I had two cases, when brake pads were totaly worn and I did not see light.

In other words, you cannot tell it without remowing wheel and looking at the brake. Sometimes light comes up just because the bed connection and sometimes external pad is gone but the internal pad (with the sensor) still Ok.

The sensor is only for the front breaks. I doubt they are worn. I actually just got this warning light on couple of weeks ago, even though my front pads are barely used (replaced about 15K ago). The problem was my CV boot the grease came out of it and got into where the sensor connector that connects to the brake pad wire sensor. My light then turned on.

Default G60's never came with dual piston calipers

I know this as fact since I put G60 front and rear brakes on my GTI, and I helped my friend install a set on his Scirocco
