Broken hood release cable. Procedure? I searched but didn't find anything.

most of the times the reason it doesnt work....
is because where it runs along the front of the hood has become loose. There are small white clips, right about your grille, that hold the wire snug agaist the inside frame. If one is broken you can just use a wire ties to tie it back to the chasis(there are holes you can get smaller wire ties into). Unless you mean your cable totally snapped, then I'm not really sure. I recently had some trouble with a stuck hood, I temporarily used a wire tie to keep the cable in the right position and eventually made my own pastic clip that looked better. If its totally snapped I'm not really sure what you should do, but I know what I described on my car is a frequent problem and thought you might have the same thing I did. Good luck anyhow!

if you still have the clamp it may not be too hard to try and attach it...
or maybe try to make your own that will work? I've seen them on ebay occassionally, just search audi 100 or audi A6, I'm not sure which one you have. I'll keep my eye out for one.
