I have a trip comp, South Africa had them through 100 and A6 the upper left is for litre per 100 kilometeres L/100km. If you pull away from standstll with quite some force, the LCD would display 51.9 then go down from there until around 10.6 (wich I usually get) but it changes constantly as you put your foot down or ascending a hill or descending. If you take your foot off the pedal it usually go down to 0.0(happens when you coast)

The symbol in the upper right shows the arrow going to the right from the dot. So, it's indicating the fuel used since the last reset.
Although the TC has to know how much fuel is in the tank in order to calculate miles-to-empty (upper middle), it doesn't display it.
