These are Diamond Audio Hex S500S separates with silk tweeters. I was really unsure if they would fit but I went to work, took out the old Bose unit in the passenger door and found that the existing hole would work reasonably well though I'd need to get the speaker back from the hole a little ways to achieve better clearance. The Diamonds are shallow depth since there isn't a ton of room behind the magnet before the window glass interferes.
After some pondering I decided to use some 5/16" scrap plywood I had and made a rough template and then this speaker plate:

I backloaded the speaker so it can move freely when in use and the thickness of the wood gives enough clearance for cone excursion under load.
I mounted the speaker firmly to the plate and then through the existing door card into the wood with a few screws. I haven't yet gotten the system up and running but now I at least know that these will fit, the door panels are a real bitch to put back on but I did spend considerable time and extra expense adding sound-deadening by Second Skin Audio on both the door skin and the inside of the panel.
Here's a shot before I finished up the inside of the panel:

I managed to use the stock grills and the existing tweeter location and aimed them just slightly back but not too much. I'm a beginner at this audio stuff, I'll enlist someone with better ears to help me tune it but I'm feeling optimistic this system is going to work. I managed to run the front wires (2 sets) through the door jam, up under the glove box and all the way under the door sill of the pass.side.NO FUN!
I still need to run the back door fill wires and everything to the amps above the spare tire but a productive day!
Stay tuned, more to come....
