Default Pin out for Phatnoise connector

I've been doing some searching and the closest I've come is a post with non-working pics.

I bought the VW cable (PN#?????) for the Phatnoise box, but now I need the pin outs to take the pins and wires out of the rectangular VW CD changer connector and put them into a round DIN-8 Audi CD changer connector. Can anyone help out with this? Even the pin locatins for the Audi DIN-11 CD changer connector is a start. My goal is to get it done tonight for a road trip tomorrow.

Default Faster and easier to just buy the VW beetle radio to trunk harness.

That's what I did. What head unit are you using?

Default I think that's what I have...Using a Concert I

Actually, I've got virtually everything I need, except the location for each ppin. I have a DIN-8 connector, and VW cable is everything except the DIN-8 connector. Beyond that it's PNP for a C4.

Default Re-found the site, just need...

to confirm that the BMW DIN-8 pin out is the same as the C4 CD changer DIN-8 pin out.

Default After doing some poking around I think the BMW is different

I'm so close to music I can taste it!

I have the older Concert I HU in my A6. It has the older DIN8 style CD changer cable installed to the trunk. I bought a VW PB cable to use for it's centronics PB connector, as well as the pins ( 9 of them including a ground ) to adapt to a DIN8 connector to plug into the changer cable.

All I need to know is: what is the correct pin configuration for the Audi DIN8 changer connector? Also I've read that BMW's that use the DIN8 connector to a BLitzsafe adapter need the 12V AC converted to 5V DC. Is this necessary for the Audi or does the power come from the Concert I HU already adapted to 5V?

I've studied the pinouts page, and don't seem to be any firther along than I was before. Help! I installed the Concert I (1) specifically because it works with PB's. I really don't want to tear up my interior to run the 13pin cable if the 8pin cable will work.

When I saw the VW cable I thought all I would have to do is pull out the pins fom the rectangular cable end and run them into a DIN8 connector housing and PNP... after updating the firmware on my MDS that is. But now that I've read the posts here I'm not so sure, and don't want to fry my PB. It's my second and it's been through 2 cars, I want it to make it to the third.

TIA

Default Found what I needed with the help of this post

Found MCominsky's post (https://forums.audiworld.com/a6100/threads/6729.phtml#67316) detailing the pin out for the Concert I, DIN8, DIN13, and PB. With pin out info here (http://www.phathack.com/pinouts.html) for VW connector (12pin) I was able to figure out the conversion. If it works I'll edit this post with part #'s and what I had to enter for search to find this all. Plus I figure what I put here will help with the next person's search.

Default this is what I did, several times

the VW rectangular connector uses the same amount of wire as the Audi 8 pin connector..
I cut the 8pin connector off the cable and used each wire from the cable to connect the VW connector..
the only wire that does not run to the head unit on the VW connector is the ground and that is connected to the chassis in the trunk of most VW's
so basically you change the old cable to the newer cable by converting the connector on the end,
I can help with the diagram later( posting from work)but its really simply since it seems you have all the parts..
