Power Lock Vacuum Pump Location

Power Lock Vacuum Pump Location
Hi guys,
the central power lock on my 92A100CS
quit working. It was happening gradually first two rear door locks stopped working, then within 2-3 days all locks stopped reacting.
I am suspecting that the vacuum pump died.
When I turn the key I can hear that the vacuum pump motor starts running but nothing is happening.
I cant locate that motor sounds like it is in the
rear passenger area.
Can anybody tell me the location of that thing?
Also if you guys know the procedure how to check
the vacuum pump - may be that's not the issue?
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Re: Power Lock Vacuum Pump Location
couple things, check your vaccuum lines first to make sure they are airtight.
If your PCB's are ok and you think its just the pump itself. I have a unit whose PCB's were water damaged (gotta remember to check those drainholes!) but the pump is fine. Let me know if you are interested (this is from my 92 100cs)
I ended up getting a complete used unit from Chris are Force 5

Disregard previous post please
If it's a Printed Circuit Board then it is probably not
my case because I can hear the motor running.
Vacuum lines and the pump itself that's what I
have to check first and work my way from there.
Thanks for the offer I'll let you know

Re: Power Lock Vacuum Pump Location
As i know, the power lock vacuum pump in my Audi80 is exactly near the rear right Absorber, you can see it if you open the trunk and looking to the top right corner.
If you want to test it, simply move the black rubber tube from the Vacuum pump, then use your remote control or Driver door lock to lock the car, you can and in the same time put your fingure at instead of the black rubber tube, you can feel the the vacuum pump pulling the air. And if you unlock the car, the vacuum pump will give am air pressure. the time for each operation should be not less than 3-4 seconds.
if its working fine, you have to check the plastic tubes that going to each door and to the lock of trunk. any leak will leads to error in locking and unlocking the doors.
