Default Shifting problems Help

I need some help with a few things.
This problem started after the passenger side floor got flooded last week in the rains that hit the north east. The ECM unit got alittle wet, but I dryed it out that day. Ever since then the tranny shifts real hard both up and down. I would like to know if the tranny control unit is located in the same area? Also will a ODBE scan of return any codes for the tranny or do I have to use another tool to check for transmission codes?
1997 A6 Q wagon.

Thanks for the help.
let me know if more info is needed.

Default The tranny computer should be a little further up under...

the carpet from the ECU.

Default If Im not mistaken.....

OBDII only checks for ECU codes related to emmisions. Audi has there Vag-Com, witch checks every system. You would need to get your hands on one, then check the tranny codes.

Good Luck.

Default The transmission control module (TCM) is located w/ the ECM in the electronic control box,...

which is located in the right hand footwell. The TCM is the unit with the ribs on the outside of the rectangular case; the square ECM case has no ribs, per my Bentley manual. To read the TCM, you'll need a VAG scan tool or VAG-COM. Generic OBD-II scan tools are strictly for reading the DTCs of emission system components, as required by Federal regulations, for 1996 and newer vehicles.

Default had similar problems with mine...

when the goof that installed my battery at Sears, for some reason, disconnected the ABS module?/unit under the back seat. I simply reconnected it and everything was fine....worth a check.
