Default So who is good with part numbers, or better can find it for me.

So after seeing that key fob with key on ebay I was wondering what car it cam from.

I belive I found the part numbers its

8L0 837 231 A

So I read that 8D0 is the B5 A4 whats the 8L0 for. I want to know if it would work with my 96 A6, never seen one before and wonderd if the euro spec cars got diffrent security systems. It is strictly lock and unlock no panic button like my 96 stock key fob. Just I don't see a FCC ID on there.

Heres the link for those who missed it.<ul><li><a href="http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&amp;sspagename=ADME%3AL%3AR TQ%3AUS%3A1&amp;viewitem=&amp;item=220080744734&am p;rd=1">http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&amp;sspagename=ADME%3AL%3AR TQ%3AUS%3A1&amp;viewitem=&amp

Default More info than you can shake a stick at

<a href="http://search.audiworld.com/?q=remote+fcc&u=&s=all&cat=010018&db=1999-01-01&de=2007-03-02">Behold the Power of Search</a>

I picked up a switchblade remote for my 1997 A6 that works very nicely. FCC ID: MZ2 410 819 6 4

There's a guy on Audifans selling remotes; he'll work with you to get you exactly what you need.

another good discussion on the matter:

that's not a standard switchblade key.

Default Yea its just a key built into the fob, lock and unlock. Bmthorn if it works with a 95-97 A4

then what would make it not work with my 96 A6.

I have the same keyless entry that goes for a 96 A4 to work with my 96 A6 any insight. I did search and nothing found on what that key is.

What's not "standard" about it?

Default Speaking of keys... I'm pissed!!! I lost the key to my 92 100CS

Yeah I have the spare. But the one I lost is the one w/ the integrated unlock button. I dont think I'll even try to replace it. (Rarity + Cost) So much for K/less entry. Between this @ the still atempted Concert1 retrofit, not to mention the High BAR (oil pressure) (havent driven it in months) I am almost ready to let it go like Rose let go of Jack in Titanic. @ no I didn't cry... I had to **** to bad. (But I bet you did) Anyway, It's like a hot Girlfriend who gives you too much Sh**) You always question yourself when it's time to cut your losses. I however am stubborn and never say quit. (Unless it's a $300 per hour hooker and were @ 61 minutes) In any event, I still love the car. Almost more than the 6. (A6, not Motel 6) Get your minds out of the gutter. So like a good soldier, I refuse to leave a man behind. I just wish that man didn't have to weigh 2 tons or so. Sorry to deviate from your post. I just didn't want to have to rent Titanic. (figured I'd cry here.)

Speaking of the InfraRed key, anybody know a good place to get one for a decent price?
