still cant...
i was out tonight trying to get that damn ECT sensor disconnected(still cant get in there to get it disconnected) so that i could slide the IAC off to clean it. Well i decided it might be easier to jsut take the whole air intake off, so i tried to disconnect the valve cover breather hose ( i thought you had to push in and twist or something to that matter, but obviously not) becuase the passengers side one completely snapped in half.
so first off, how do you remove the valve cover breather tubing?
secondly, can i replace them, since i have to now, with silicone tubing? that way i can just put them on with hose clamps and if i ever have to take them off again it will be allot easier

Re: still cant...
I just took two long flat heads, of course i had the rubber boot pulled up. their should be tabs on both sides slide the screw drivers under the taps and twist a little while pulling up, should come right off. your breather idea will work most of them just break from age.

The breather hoses (or tubes) are designed to minimize oil being introduced into the noise dampner..
that attaches to the throttle body. Here's a link on the 12V forum that will give you a lot of info re: these hoses. You remove them by squeezing the clamp and pulling off the valve cover nozzle.

Breather Hose/Tube

RE:
ok thanks that helps, but im not good enough with this kind of stuff to fully understand that yet, is it saying that i just need a piece of hose thats a 3/4in inside diameter? (ie the bigger that will fit the better?) becuase after seeing a picture in that post of someones intake setup they were using, what looked to me, like the type of flexible metal hose that you can get at menards or home depot for gas lines and what not, is this correct, or whould something like that work if it had the right inside diameter? or should i stick with a rubber or silicone hose?
thanks for the help

Even though they are expensive, I would personnly stick with the OEM breather hoses...
You can purchase the driver's side breather hose assembly for $58 from www.autohausaz.com. The passenger's side breather hose is $88 (don't ask me why the more complex driver's side is less than the simpler passenger's side).
If you SFTAs on the 12V forum under "breather hose", you'll find plenty of info for home-made hose assemblies.
