testimonial of first 6 hr drive in the 94 100csq
Well, first off this car was ment for going fast on the highway! Damn, I had two jetta prevouse to this car and they would start to swerve like crazy when you hit 85+ mph. This car holds like I am still going 40 at 95! It was truly amazing. The ride needs to be better with some new front struts at some point, but overall it was good. The best part of the trip, came when I approached the mid of my travel, and "low rider" came on the radio. I cranked up the stock speakers and pleasently listened to the song as I blew by two mercedes and a BMW. "low----rid----er" I raced every luxury car on the trip. Winning some, losing others. Overall, it was a damn good ride and I expect more from the car soon! Gas miliage was 23 mpg, and I hope to edge that up to 26 with all the fluids and other changes I am doing for maitenance. I am putting a hitch on the car to tow a small boat trailer and I think it will be awsome! So excited about the car now, and I look forward to more of these experiences.

Re: Just drove my A6 200 miles @ 80-90mph. Car belongs on the highway.
I agree, this car is perfect for the highway. The only thing I don't like about it is the revs are near 4000rpm @ 85mph. Other than that, the car is rock-solid. The quattro actually seems to have better directional stability than my dad's MB E430, which I had to borrow a few weeks ago for a 200-mile trip.

Re: Man, if you get 26MPG, let me know how!
I routinely average 23-25 mpg on a mixed use of driving and my almost pure highway mileage is about 26- 27 mpg. I have a 1995, A6, 5 speed, fwd. It has 160k on it and runs great; uses no oil....
