Default clutch questions for 5 cylinders

As my car is about to hit 160,000, im thinking it will be time soon for a new clutch. How much of a job is this to replace. I have replaced 2 clutches on Jetta II and a 82 rabbit. These engines are transversely mounted, and you must disconnect the motor mounts in order to scoot the tranny out...i remember it being a PITA....Is it easier for these 5 cylinders? Anyone done it?
Just remove the axles, unbolt the tranny and remove? any info would help.
thanks

Default Re: clutch questions for 5 cylinders

i had to remove my headers also and play around with a floor jack to lift the front of the engine slightly, and i had to loosen the motor mounts to get it out, but then again some of my stuff was bent. My car was once hurt in an accident All around if you haave the right equipment it's not that bad
