Getting gas...why does my car do this??
I can't seem to figure out why my car will not accept gas from the station pump like it should. When I fill up, it will not accept fuel faster than a trickle or the automatic sensor on the pump shuts off the flow thinking its already full. It takes at least 5 minutes just to put 10 bucks in and the pump attendents( Jersey makes someone else pump your gas) get really pissed off because they can't set it and walk away as they have to stand there and try to pump gas in at a snails pace. Does anyone else have this problem or have a solution for whats going on? I usually get out and do it myself as it starts to look like a candid camera episode unfolding with the pump jockeys umpatience...

I have the same problem...
I found that if I turn the pump upside down the pump will not keep shutting off. I think that it has something to do with a faulty check valve in our cars.

Agreed
I also have better fill speed when the nozel is at an extreme angle or pulled out a little to alow air to escape the tank as it fills. Not good for evaporative emissions while filling up but neither is the cat free exhaust that I'm running(I'm so ashamed!).

Mine did the same thing!
A local guy was parting out his 4k and he had the roof and trunk lid cut off and I traced fuel lines and vents around.
I then cut out the check valve and went home and replaced mine. Works like a dream now!
I hated the crazy hand cramps that I would get just trying to fill the car up!

its a german thing, they all do it except a mercedes diesel
they have a super wide mouth so you can ram it with a trucker nozel, takes less than 30 seconds to fill my 300DT at the local trucker stop- super high pressure
