Default Ignition switch (keyed lock cylinder) R&R.... any BTDT's?

Ok... search didn't help much..... all I could find was how to rekey your door locks and removing the electrical portion of the ignition switch.

Well, my key unit is causing me problems. Doesn't seem to be a bad cut, as it works perfectly in all the doors, and worked fine in the ignition up until a week ago. Now, you put the key in, and fiddle with it until it turns.

So, how do I pull the lock cylinder out? Is there a drill point? The only bentley I've got is a Fox bentley... and as similar as the lock units look, I figured it wasn't the same drill-point.

Heck... I can't even go to a push-button start, cause I still need to remove the lock cylinder to prevent steering wheel lock.

Default the drill point is the same.

1/4" from the end, iirc.

Sweet! Any chance they use the same lock? (not at home... no software reference right now)

Default Ok.... checked.... Part number Question....

Ok... here's how it works out:
Fox:
housing - 155 905 851
lock - 411 905 855
switch - 111 905 865

4kq:
housing - 155 905 851
lock - 893 905 855
switch - 111 905 865

So.... I can't figure it out... whats the difference in locks? I forget what the difference is in the first 3 numbers.... 411 vs 893?

The only reason I'm going this route is because I have several fox parts cars with perfect switches, and being able to swap housings while I get a new switch would be nice.

Anyone have any insight into the difference between part numbers?

Default i'd just swap housings and be done with it.

maybe the first number designates wether it gets a VW key blank or an Audi key blank.
