Default the top bushing i.e. strut mount?

just reuse the old one. I wouldn't recommend ghetto rigging something that's used to hold the weight of the car up.

Default For safety reasons

I would NOT "rig" anything up in regards to the strut mount. Wait for the proper part, keep the car parked.

Default Agreed. Get the part, use the old one, or take the bus.

If that were to fail while you were driving and you got in an accident, it would be YOUR fault.

Not worth the risk

Default Could you mean 'spring seat'?

Do you mean the 'strut bushing' (Metal & rubber, with the bearing in the midle),

or..
do you maen the top 'spring seat'?
(The metal 'hat' that the top end of the spring sits on)

Really, the only *good* solution is to wait until you get a new part.

Or.. Put everything back how it was, and just pretend that you never took it apart yet.. :-(

Really, I guess that advice applies both to the strut mount or the spring seat. You are borked until you get the bits you need..
