Default Too much pressure?

I recently swapped out my fuel pump for a bosch 044. That and a rebuild on the fuel distributor and the car ran great. Until a couple hours on the test track and we died. It came across like a timing problem so thats what I concentrated on, but the timing checks out. As well as all the ignition components. It wants to run. Fast forward and I got a gage together to check fuel pressures. The 044 is putting out over 100 psi into the fuel dist but at the injectors and after the pressure regulator my pressures are spot on. Its holding pressure just fine too. Anyone else running an 044? I never did a comparison with the old pump to verify flow so I dont know what the old pump was putting in to the dist. thoughts? I have a race this weekend and I'm really stumped at this point...

Pressure regulator in fuel distributor could be stuck or something kinked/plugged on the return line.
