Default Were the 1.8L engines assembled in Ingolstadt or Zwickau?

Someone was telling me that they thought my 1.8L 4-banger was made in Zwickau, the old Audi assembly sight before WWII. I thought all Audis were made at Ingolstadt. Anybody more know something on this? Thanks!

Default If they were built at the same place as the car then no

The 4000's were put together in Ingolstadt, Emden, and Necharsulm.

Default Mine was assembled in Ingolstadt, but they were telling me the engine came from Zwickau..

I guess I'm just really bored to be asking this type of question...
