Why do people think I'm crazy for taking care of a 20 year old car?
I usually wash the 4k once a week during my lunch break. One of the sales guys basically thought I was nuts for caring for my car, kinda asked why I bother washing it. I was always brought up that you take care of what you have and come on, it's a Audi! I just don't get people sometimes.

some people just dont get it.
id rather own my 18 year old CGT than a brand spanking new toyota, and people just dont get it.
I´ve given up on explaining my reasons, but just enjoy all the looks the car is starting to attract, it´s becoming a real headturner, and the people who doesnt understand why, i really dont have that much in common with anyway, so i really dont care.
The only people who really can **** me off, is other Audi entusiast that will dish my car. They of all, should understand the affection for an Audi

Amen to that.
Having spent more than most on building my ride, folks ask me why I didn't just get a new car. Seeing it in person usually clears up most peoples confusion though.
And for those that still ask the answer is "Yeah I could have bought a new car for the same money, but I'd be driving a boring new car with no mods, style, or uniqueness. I've got a car that I never see one like anywhere."
What do you guys think? $25-30k for a new Honda or Toyota (w/5 years of payments) or similar money over 5-6 years in a extremely modded CGT or 4K?
To me it's a no brainer...

You know what t's me off?
I live in a dumb subdivsion, I hate it, but I cant afford to move out. A neighbor across the the street has been heckling me (friendly, to an extent) about my 4ktq progress. He is like "Why not buy a new car?" I keep my comments to myself and just smile and wave whenever he says his bullcrap.
I get more irritated with ignorant people like that than anything. I just choose to be the bigger person and keep my trap shut. Sometime though, Id love to just give him an earful
