will an extra oil change hurt?

bought an '86 4000cs quattro two weeks ago. seller said he did an oil change recently but im pretty sure he used a crappy oil. would it hurt to do another one so soon?

Nope, in fact it's good for the car.

Drop a quart or so of Marvelous Mystery Oil in her oil, drive around for a couple of days, change the oil. It'll help clean 20 years worth of gunk out of her oil galleries...
