Default Winter project daydreaming......

What's your thoughts on a V6 conversion on an '85 CGT? It's cold outside and the brain isn't functioning normally and I thought this might be fun to try....

Do a turbo (MC engine) Cheaper, Lots of Support Info and Better Results. IMHO.

Maybe, but the V6 has a nice clean look to it with all those covers and such...

Too heavy, it'll throw off the balance of the car.

Well... Do you want looks or power? Remove eng, clean/paint the bay and dress it up.You'll get both.

Default Ahh, but the V8 is only 20# heavier than the NA I5 and lighter than a MC...

So, what about a V8 CGT?

I'm sorry but there's a big difference between placing a V8 in an engine bay for a picture 3 years ago vs. having it actually propel a car down the street. I'm waiting for someone to show proof that they've ever got a V8 type 85 to move on it's own.

Default Anybody ever thought about the 2.7 twinturbo in a type 81/85????

The main idea here is if the 2.8 V-6 fits, can possibly the twin turbo be fitted? Sure would provide some major room for horsepower down the road. I know that the turbos make the engine much wider, but its nice to dream.......

Hope you like pushing you car...the 2.7TT hasn't been very reliable, hence it's demise...
