Default Adam i have a confession

Yesterday i asked you if i had to take off the 2 bolts holding the anto-roll bar on my side off, you said no. But i had already loosened the bolts because my POS haynes manual told me to, but what happend is they are spinning on both sides cause i cant hold the top of them and tighten the bottom ya know? so my question is what the HECK do i do know, the bolts are still secure but they are loose with a wrench but how am i going to tighten them back up??

Default I re-used mine.

After removing them, degreased, they looked fine, not a scratch. These bolts are very hard and tough.
You can replace them if you wish to play it safe.
I bought some from an Audi dealer at $2.25 ea. Invoice indicated that they called them Polygon fasteners.

As for the swaybar, I used a stubby box-end wrench to hold those bolts.

Default You can reuse the bolts and no need to remove sway bar...

BTW, if you've already removed the sway bar, you can use a jack to get it back up so you can tighten it back down.

It is a PITA otherwise IME.

Default Just a question.......

I dont know about the 5k's, but on my 200tq which uses an axle "bolt" intead of a nut, I didn't have to do anything but unbolt inner CV joint flange and axle bolt, slide it away from transmission and my front shaft was out. No need to mess with strut, ball joint or sway bar. Are the 5k's different or automatics for that matter?
