Default Any BTDT with Bailcast Stickyboot split boots for CV joints?

This UK manufacturer claims to have a split boot to fit our cars. I've never seen one.

I'm not sure that I'd want to think of such a thing as a permanent repair, but it might be worth sticking one in the trunk for use in emergencies.

http://www.bailcast.u-net.com</a

Don't laugh, but a long time ago (around 1991) I used one of those kits (not from this manufacturer) on a 1982 Cadillac Eldorado, it actually worked. I sold the car so I don't now how long it lasted but I remember that I got about 3-4,000 miles out of it. I think they are kind of a Micky Mouse repair but could hold you over. The boot was split in the middle with a tongue in groove(?) type setup that had holes in it to use the provided hardware to fasten together. (screw and nut) You attached a hose clamp to the outter ends of the boot to secure it. Again I say Micky Mouse.

Default They never returned my e-mail....

I sent them an e-mail about a year ago asking how much they'd charge for shipping to Canada. Never heard back from them. I guess they're not interested in shipping.
Cheers!

Default DBC 100 Kits?

Actually it was last August 10 my e-mail disappeared into the ether. The Stickyboots are essentially split boots and IIRC are very difficult to install with a leak-free joint. The Duraboots, however, stretch over a cone and can be installed without disassembly of the joint as well. Please keep me posted if they contact you back - I'd be interested in ordering some DBC 100's
Cheers!

Default I've not contacted them. why don't you try again?

Or ask them if they have a rep or distributor in Canada . . . maybe there's a business opportunity there for you.
