Desperate for brake calipers for 86 5000cs turbo wagon
It seems that these no longer exist from any supplier does anyone know where I can get them? My old ones are froze up and seem beyond repair. Perhaps some of your more creative types have retro fitted them with something else?

Which rotors do you have? 276x25 or 280x22? It makes a difference on the caliper. The 276 uses the two-piston G60 and the 280 uses the single-piston G54 from what I recall. Also, where in the world are you located?

G60 rebuild kits are available, I haven't found the G54 kits yet. I think they were used on other Audis (B-chassis) but with smaller diameter rotors, so you might luck out and find a set of them. When I get some more time, I'll dig into it more.

I've thought about rebuilding them but they are in pretty rough shape and froze up pretty good. I watched utube on rebuilding them and they aren't the easiest to do, if I could send them our to someone who rebuilds them I'd entertain that as an option. Thanks for your thoughts and I'll take whatever you can find out. I'm hoping if I can't find exact replacements someone out there has retrofitted them with some that are more readily available.

I went and looked at the rotors again and the rears are twin piston and are cast with a 60 Girling, the fronts are a single piston and cast with 41 43 Girling, can confirm what these are?

G60's are used in two versions. C-chassis and B-chassis. G60's were on 86.5-91 5kq/5kt/5ktq/200/200q. They were also on some V8 and urS4 cars. Any of those will work. The B-chassis cars have the caliper on the opposite side (toward the rear), so the piston diameters are flipped. If you use a matched pair, you would probably not notice that they are backwards. If you post up in one of the old-school Audi groups on FB, you might get someone closer to you with a good set. I'd contemplate selling you my extra set of G60's I pulled from my old 87.5 5kq, but shipping from OH to AK is pretty steep on a package that heavy...

Thanks, I was able to pick up a set of G60's off ebay, the rears have been much more difficult to find. An Audi friend says that perhaps rears from a Passat VR6, B5 or B5.5 might fit, I'm not familiar with those so I'll have to do some research.

Does your wagon have the vented rear brakes? If so, I think there are calipers that will work from the B5. The solid disc setup has calipers that were used on several older Audis up until the 1995-ish model year. The vented setup was used on other wagons and possibly the urS4/S6.
