e brake cables
I'm in the process of replacing E brake cables & noticed a recent post relating to cables & sticking calipers, in my case my caliper is a recent rebuild & the drivers side E brake cable was sticking, I ordered both sides & am trying to do them 1 at a time, last night I removed drivers side cable, it was frozen,so that explains the brake hanging up when I used E brake, difficult but possible to remove cable without dropping exhaust etc. as I think the earlier poster mentioned, I have that cable re installed but have not been able to get the clip on the hooks the the puller goes thru, working on my back with the car on ramps & jacks doesn't make it easier, any suggestions as to how to get cable on the hook? last year the puller, attached to the E brake handle in the car, was pulled thru the hooks & I had no E brake, I removed the puller, de rusted it & re installed with washers so it would not get pulled thru the rusted hole on the hooks, all done without removing ex. etc. do I have to remove hooks to get cable on?
