Default Heavy cars??

Anyone know the exact/or approx./ weight of an Audi 100 with AT ??? The "Model guide" on AudiWorld says that the gross weight is ~3300 lbs.
However, the sticker attached on the car (driver side door) says ~3900 lbs.
So, which one is true? Isn't 3900 lbs a little too much? This sticked came with the factory, from Germany, can't be fake.

I would tend to go with the 3,900....my V8 is just under 2 tons and the 100 isn't that much different..

does that sticker mean 3900 pounds is the weight of the car itself or the maximum weight allowed by the suspension?

I mean 3300 pounds is the car's dry weight, right? 3900 lbs is the maximum weight the car will weight with 23.5 gallons of gas, oil, antifreeze and four adults in the car. There is no way Audi built a type 44 that out weights my 1980 Buick Riviera at a dry weight of 3850. I mean when they came out they were supposed to be one of the lightest "bigger" cars out there. I'll try to dig up the article in Car and Driver about Audi building lighter unibodies. The article had a picture of two girls holding a type 44 unibody(no panels other than the roof and rear quarters)in the air. Pretty cool pic.

If you really must know...go to a local scrap metal yard that weighs trucks full & empty.Give the guy a couple of bucks to drive on the scale!!!

Default Uh, guys...Thats the GVWR.

That is the max permissible weight the vehicle can be, including fuel, passengers, and cargo.

The actual weight of the car (curb weight) is in the low 3000lb range for 2WD models, and mid 3000's for AWD models. Of course, leather seating, turbos, 20v heads, etc all add weight...

The sticker in the truck lists the curb weight, in kilograms, if you are interested in what the factory says it weighs w/out people or gas in it.
