Key stuck in ignition
The key didn't go all the way back, when I switched off the car this arvo,
The key came off start, but didn't come all the back, weird, quite solid stop.
??

I tend not to lock my wheel and if I do I make sure to take the pressure off before I turn the ignition key. Not doing this is a good way to mess up your ignition lock.
Or it could be something really simple like a worn out key.

Aye, sorry KB, the 1989 turbo auto.
Key springs back after starting to a halfway point and stops solid.
Halfway, so power is off, but it won't go back that extra bit
It won't go into steering lock because of the placement of key.
