rad fan issues on 1990 100Q
fan stopped working away from home, found negative ground strip fuse blown, when I tried new fuse still no fan, managed to get car home, removed plug on thermoswitch & jumped terminals, both low & high speed fans work with strip fuse temporarily bypassed, if fan works like this resistor pack must be OK? can wiring from MFTS or MFTS itself be issue, temp gauge works

Does the fan come on with the AC on?
That should ignore the water temp sensor, and force stage 1.
anyway, yeah, if jumping the rad switch works, then it's pretty much gotta be the rad switch. I think they're pretty cheap, maybe 20 bucks.

new thermoswitch installed
fan now works, had to rebuild the strip fuse block & terminals. I don't understand why the fuse burnt out but the terminals were heavily corroded, I have no afterun fan, was not working before this, jumping afterun terminals does not work, I've kinda given up on having afterun fan work, any thoughts on this

after run fan issue
both my non turbo quattro's, '87 5K (377k) & '90 100 (325k) used to have working afterun fans, now both don't function, I've given up as other issues were more important
