Seat Repair Question
Can anybody describe how to separate the back rest from the seat bottom on a POWER 87 5kcstqa black leather seat? The seat is out of the car, the leather is detached - just can't figure out how to separate the seat halves and slide the cover off.
Thanks as always,

Re: Seat Repair Question
Can't answer your whole question, but the cover does not "slide off". Below every cross seam, there is a steel rod. The rod is connected to the frame with hog rings. You need needle nose pliers and patience.

Re: Seat Repair Question
Thanks, Tom.
I found and cut out all the hog rings. My seat was trashed enough that only the rear rod of the cover was still connected with hawg rings to both the "cover rod" and the "seat foam rod".
Right now, all that's keeping the cover on the seat bottom is the pivot mechanism of the seat back. The pivot appears to be spot welded in place. I'll try to pry it off tonight as suggested in the above URL...but I tried this last night with no success...guess I'll just pry a little harder!
