steering rack R&R
Here's some stuff on earlier type 44 steering rack removals:

What I recall regarding V8 differences (you still go through the passenger side wheelwell, connections are basically the same), you may need to remove the passenger side distributor to get adequate clearance. You also may have to LOOSEN (not remove) the subframe to lower the tranny a bit too. Or maybe that eliminates the need to remove the distributor. At 70+ the old memory sort of muddies.
dizzy's, coolant hard lines, ect.....
remove bolts for steering damper and tie rod end rods (at rack)
Disconnect bracket at the end of the steering rod inside the car.
Comes out the pass side tie rod opening.
