Also what size is the crank pulley bolt? I spent my saturday tearing everything apart for the head rebiuld and radiator change. I am doing timing belt and water pump also. It is probably also a good Idea to do the thermostat.

The injectors are used but are working normal, I'm only replacing them because the seals were bad and I feel safer with new parts. the turbo is a k26 it has virtually no end play, I can measure it if you want. Shoot me an e-mail if you are interested in either of these or both. I would also do a straight up trade for a k24.

T55 torx will work, but it's best to use a 12mm triple square

Default Uh....Why would you use a Torx on a trip-square? Thats asking for problems in getting proper

torque when tightening. If you need something to pull the head in a pinch, a torx will be ok. Otherwise, get a 12mm trip-square! VW 4cyl's use a 10mm BTW (at least the Rabbit does).

Default Hey koop..........

Do you remember the name of that site that had turbo rebuild kits for $165? I got the head off today using the 12mm. It was'nt as hard as I thought it would be, it was just time consuming. I pulled her off with manifolds and turbo attatched. I am going to need both of the oil cooling lines that go to the turbo, since I couldnt get them off I had to cut them. Yes I know they are expensive. I am going to see if my buddy who is doing my head can make some new lines for me. I was amazed how the cylinder walls had almost no ridge at the top. I am used to seeing a deeper one than that on a car with 120,000 on it. What do you think I could get for my k26? There is nothing wrong with it. I am going to measure the end play, it is very slight. I am going to put it on ebay as soon as I find a k24.

It was TurboCity that I got a rebuild kit from, I thought. I won't be able to look through receipts for several days to be sure. There are several sites that should them however (mine was $112 shipped, not $165). Majestic Turbo, and Melet (not sure if that is spelled correctly) can rebuild 3K-Warner turbos.

K26's range from $75 to several hundred for good used ones (Maroney's in PA sells them for $75 + shipping).
