This may be a series of dumb questions BUT.....

I am in Canada (however, this is not the reason for the dumb questions). I am looking at an Audi 90 for my wife. The car in question has a March 91 build date . HOWEVER, the sales guy is telling me its a "92". As far as I remember, the model year changes occur in August, i.e. June 91 = the last "91" and Aug 91 = the first "92". In this case, even with the March 91 build date, the VIN number seems to be correct for a "92".

I know that for the UrS4's in Canada all the cars that were built from March 92 to June 92 are "93" model year cars even thought they are really 92 spec cars. Did VW/Audi Canada do the same thing with the Audi 90's in 1991/92? What are the differences between the real 91-spec cars and the real 92-spec cars? Anything?

Also, the 90 wasn't even available in the US in 1992.....don't know about Canada though!!

build date of march 1991 is a 1992 M.Y. car. for reference, take my 1990 CQ as an example. it was built in march 1989. chassis # is 000292. so its gonna be a very early build. i only know of about 4 CQ's older than mine (besides the '89's that were brought over as dealer trainers).
