Anyone have this wheel bearing tool?? Does in work?
Does anyone have this wheel bearing remover/installer? Did it work well?
I don't want to take the hub off because of paying someone to press new bearings in and having to pay for a tire alignment.
I'm replaceing both wheel bearings and axles on a FWD '93 90s
I also don't want to spend $400 for a hub shark<ul><li><a href="http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/FWD-Front-Wheel-Bearing-Remover-Installer-Puller-Tools_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ72Q3a552Q7c39Q3a 1Q7c66Q3a2Q7c65Q3a12QQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14Q2el 1318QQhashZitem140252861019QQitemZ140252861019">ht tp:

Not worth it in my 2cents. Any good machine shop will do it AND...
it should not cost you a nut and a half. Just take the thing off yourself because it ain't that hard to do. I can take the 4 hubs off my CQ in an hour & a half. CVTech probably can do it in less time cause that player has his own compressor and air tools in his garage,

Overpriced.
<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/70334/press.jpg"></center><p>Personally I use a 20 ton press, and sometimes even that thing has trouble. The bearings in these cars are a bear to remove - I think that tool you want to try would have trouble, at the very least it would be a pain in the ***.<ul><li><a href="http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=45210">Here is the eBay tool, much cheaper. I'd still skip.</a></li></ul>

that tool will likely fail before it even so much as budges either one of the wheel bearings.
I do the press method like nothing posted. Most of them have been 20T and they all struggle to crack that bearing free. 60T usually has less of a problem...that's the one I use in our aviation maintenance department.

Reason for wanting the tool
I thought that if I had a tool that would remove the bearing I wouldn't have to pay to get both bearings pressed out and I won't have to get the car lined up. Those 3 processes would add up to more then the price of the tool.
Also, I would have the tool which I could use on my other cars or this same one again.

I was quoted $45 each for bearing replacement, and I'm not certain that was remove And install
Heading to Harbor Freight for the next set. Shoulda done this in the first place.

I just used that same tool on my A6.. and it worked just fine..
I read all the bad post and decided to give it a shot anyway.. if you want to get it go to harbor freight and buy it, its a-lot cheaper and no shipping..
as for the quality, the only complaint I would have is that the tool will out last the case..
the actual items feel substantial and did not bend flex or deform while in use..

oh one other thing.. it has no provisions for removing the hub
but that's not a big deal if you have a impact wrench and a longer wheel lug or something solid to put behind the factory lugs like the head of a hammer.
