I have a ‘91 Coupe quattro and I want to change the GM climate control head to a manual unit without changing the air box. I am willing to accept limited limited functionality.

i just want fan speed and AC control. I would fix the flaps at center and defrost vents.

Can we also use extra center console buttons for turning the ac on or adjusting the fan speed?

Has anyone accomplished such a task?

I'm very certain the airbox is completely different between the two control heads..so there is no way to "back-date" the HVAC to manual controls..unless you find a complete manual control airbox, cables and controls..
