my 1988 audi 90 was sitting for 5 months then it got real cold and it killed the battery.got new battery but when i drove it the car died like the battery died,it acts like the alternator is out cause the battery is running the car.all the sudden it charged fine for 1 day drove it all over then it drained out like the battery was dead why it was running.is their anything else beside the alternator that could make this happen

charge it up and have it tested at a parts store

with the car running, they can check your alternator voltage output
