Can't pop the hood; at the end of my rope. Halp?

This happened to me so many times after I put my front end back together... Luckily my headlights...

weren't mounted correctly at that time and I could slide them out.

Ive had this happen before i tied the hood lever to the steering wheel and pulled the hood up
