Default changed all lifters. Now, the car was at TDC when I did it

Getting ready to put the bearing cover(?) back on and the cam is higher than the original height. It's not hitting the distributor? Is the valve below keeping it from going down? How do I get the cam back down, Do I just bolt it down? One of the cam lobes are hitting the lifter which is preventing it from seating

Thanks,
Anthony '89 90Q

Default you might have to turn the camshaft so that it's not in full contact with any one lifter

this will allow you to seat it down fully.

Default Make sure to put the cam caps on in the same orientation

They get tightened down in a certain order too, to avoid snapping the caps in half!

Default im in NY, since the timing belt is still on I'll manual turn the engine

So that 1 lifter is touching the lifter. Order should be from front (sprocket) to back right?

Default at tdc the cam should sit easily with 1st cylinder lobes facing up

just tighten down the cam caps and it will be pushed down.

NEVER MIX UP CAM CAPS, crack anything you'll need to buy a new head.
